Two Men Face Charges Regarding Heathrow Alleged Pepper Spray Attack
Two individuals are now facing charges following a suitcase robbery where a suspected capsaicin spray caused injuries at the major London air hub.
Tyrone Richards, 31, and Anton Clarke-Butcher, 24, are accused of two counts of robbery and two counts of deploying a toxic agent, authorities have stated.
This legal action stems from an investigation into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal Three on the weekend. Before the assault occurred, two female travelers had their suitcases stolen after exiting a parking garage elevator, authorities reported.
A young child was among those injured during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and were later discharged.
This event – which authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism – caused train delays and the temporary blocking of the main airport road tunnel and the T3 parking area for a brief period.
