Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Tragic Car Crash

Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been discharged from hospital, Nigerian authorities confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was part of a serious road collision near Lagos on December 29th, a tragic incident that claimed the lives of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while healing from his light wounds, his promoter confirmed on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being prepared for repatriation,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a performance coach. Omotoso added that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the tragic loss of his two close friends.”

The news of his discharge comes as the global fight fans shared its support for the champion in the wake of the terrible crash.
